ameter. Not terribly subtle. The woman mentioned in the alert had proven to be difficult to assess: She’d been seen so many times that she had probably memorized most of the questions. She knew what responses to give to in order to keep herself out of the hospital. That being the case, we decided that the direct approach would be the best. So a short while later this paranoid woman opens the door to find a plainclothes cop with a side arm and a huge pentagram on his chest. She immediately lost it, screaming and carrying on. No further assessment necessary: We shipped her off to the hospital. I’m happy to report that she is now back on her medications and is living a normal life with her child. |
