As part of our big change and transition to a more meaningful life here in Avalon, we are exploring the idea of creating a non-profit group to support people who are used to responding to emergencies.
As former workers of the emergency services, we know how important it is for people to come together in times of crisis. Often aid can be very slow in reaching its destination and with the scale of disasters these days, that time can cost lives.
We have a vested interest in supporting the efforts of those who respond to emergencies as we ourselves were in this area. Wether it be law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel or others, these people do great things in times of need and we’d like to support them when they are on the ground wherever a disaster may be around the world.
Our idea is simple. We want to help communities recover fast after disasters and want to fill in the gaps where needs are not being met by bigger organisations. If you think this sounds like a good idea, we’d love to hear from you. We are looking to develop small group of people to help drive this initiative and to help people donate to this important cause.
